Food and drink
Finland’s cuisine is centred around fresh, natural ingredients sourced directly from the waters, fields, and forests. Unlike its neighbouring Scandinavian countries, Finnish cuisine reflects influences from both Russia in the East and Sweden in the West. Helsinki’s upbeat food scene is both high-quality and constantly evolving. In fact, you can find almost any type of cuisine you prefer. Finnish cuisine emphasizes local, seasonal ingredients such as fresh fish, wild game, forest berries, and mushrooms.
Drinking tap water is considered a daily privilege for Finns. Finland’s tap water is renowned for its high quality and is not only completely safe but also enjoyable to drink. Studies have shown that Finland’s tap water is often cleaner than bottled water, making it suitable for consumption everywhere. Enjoy!
